Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Requisition and manage foodstuffs and materials as needed
  • Preparation, portioning, and packing of both raw and cooked food
  • Rotate, label, chill, and store food by Following food safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records related to food preparation and storage
  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and orderliness in all assigned areas
  • Use materials and equipment efficiently and economically
  • Adhere to all workplace specifications, standards, and procedures
  • Practice strict compliance with hygiene, cook-chill protocols, and health & safety regulations
  • Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly
  • Support staff in packaging/plating areas by advising on portion sizes
  • Check meals at all service points for quality, quantity, and presentation
  • Operate the kitchen computer system efficiently
  • Ensure the security of your area and all related equipment and supplies
  • Report accidents, fires, stock loss, or unfit food immediately to management
  • Assist with special functions and events as needed
  • Attend mandatory training courses when scheduled
  • Perform housekeeping duties and provide cross-cover for colleagues as required
  • Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Senior Chef or Catering Officer

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a catering or high-volume kitchen environment
  • QQI Level 6 qualification in Culinary Arts (or equivalent)
  • Full-time availability
  • Garda Vetting clearance required
  • Legal authorization to work in Ireland
  • Two professional references covering the last five years of employment
