Cpl are supporting our client partner to assist them in sourcing an accomplished Senior Electronics Engineer / Manager for their Electronics manufacturing facility in Citywest Co. Dublin.
As part of a global leader in the R&D and Manufacture of Electronics, headquartered in Italy, the company have been based here in their Irish manufacturing operations for over 30 years.
With 100+ full time staff, the business continues to grow and expand across their international client portfolio.
They are now seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer / Production Leader to support both the R&D team in Italy as well as the production and engineering operations on site in Dublin.
This is an interesting and rewarding role where you will be a vital link between Italy and Ireland, and you will provide support to the teams in both locations.
This is a day shift role that can offer either on-site 5 days a week or a hybrid working model
(2 days a week from home and 3 days on-site)
As the Senior Electronic Engineer / Production Manager, you will be required to manage and co-ordinate the activities of production personnel to achieve production metrics including throughput, changeover times, minimising downtime and driving ongoing improvement, while optimizing the manufacturing process for increased productivity.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years proven production management experience and have experience in preferably either the Semi-Conductor or the Electronic manufacturing industries.
The ability to successfully project manage is another key skill to succeed in the role, especially as you will be the link between teams in different countries.
Senior Electronic Engineer / Production Manager key responsibilities –
Reporting to the Site Manager you will execute a critical role as the main interface between the customers, the R&D teams in Italy and the production and assembly teams in Dublin.
You will help with co-ordinating a cross functional collaboration between Design, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing to ensure a flawless transition from concept and design to final production.
You will work closely with the Process Engineers, Quality and Production to ensure that the plant maximizes it output and efficiency at scale.
This can involve optimising the production processes, design optimisation, and ensuring that the production process is designed and maintained for premium output and quality.
- You will focus on identifying potential risks with new product introductions, including design, cost, supply chain, and production risks.
- When required, you will help with the development of mitigation strategies to ensure smooth product launches
- As the Senior NPI / Production Engineer, you will oversee the process of transition from prototype to mass production by conducting trial production runs, addressing production issues, and ensuring full-scale production processes are stable and efficient
- You will lead and coordinate the New Product Development and Introduction team to ensure timely and accurate reporting of trial activities, overseeing regular status updates, aligning the team’s efforts with customer requirements, and ensuring all trial milestones are achieved in line with project timelines
- Using your expertise and subject matter knowledge, you will provide support to NPDI resources in collaboration with Purchasing and Planning during phase-in and phase-out processes, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with project timelines and objectives
- In your role you will promote team training and development (particularly for the 3 engineers that will be reporting to you)
The successful Senior Electronic Engineer / Production Manager will possess:
You will ideally hold a third level Degree in Electronic, Electronic, Automation or Mechatronic Engineering
The successful candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a highly complex manufacturing environment (preferably but not exclusively, the Electronics or Semi-Conductor industries)
You will have excellent proven project management skills including timeline management as well as team and resource management.
Having a client-driven understanding and approach is critical here.
You will have excellent communication skills and the proven ability to build working partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
A working knowledge and qualification in Lean Manufacturing principles are required, this company are extremely focussed on lean manufacturing.
Ideally you will be an industry who professional who has excellent critical thinking skills, and you will be familiar and adept at process optimisation.
A working knowledge of SAP is also another distinct advantage.
